China Soils Museum

Wholly funded and founed in 2016 by Hongda Xingye Co., Ltd. (stock code: 002002), the China Soils Museum functions as a collection and exhibition center. The museum seeks to set up a platform for studying soil samples and grow a professional R&D team through facilitating the collection of and further research on soil samples, so as to provide steadfast support to the research of GIWSR.

The China Soils Museum displays typical cross-section soil samples collected from home and abroad with detailed introductions beside them, including their structure, chemical composition, and suitable crop growing conditions. The museum is divided into two parts, one for displaying samples collected from the seven major regions of China, namely South, Central, North, East, Northwest, Southwest, and Northeast China, the other for samples collected from all over the world.

By adopting a variety of modern multi-media technologies, the museum is able to give a graphic and vivid illustration of various topics, such as soil sample introductions, soil knowledge, soil conditions at home and abroad and GIWSR’s development plans in soil improvement, which renders it modernized and unique.

GIWSR promotes soil sciences to public, providing them with a direct and vivid view in soil resources from all over the world and familiarizing them with the characteristic, formation, type and location of different soil resources, so as to increase the public’s knowledge about soils and raise their awareness about the importance of soil ecological security.

GIWSR also serves as a platform for teaching and researching soil, ecology, agriculture, environment and other majors for universities and institutes. Visitors can not only observe diverse soil samples from all over the world, but also learn about the research progress of different GIWSR R&D staffs in different periods, which provides reference for their study and research in soil sciences.
